Communicating with Investors

The days of ho-hum standard-issue investor communications are over. It’s a new investment community out there — with younger, more connected, more tech-savvy investors — and they expect more from you.

Wayfinding and Signage

There are a lot of things in life to which we pay scant attention, until they don’t work the way they’re supposed to. Wayfinding is a case in point. When we go to a library, museum, theatre, campus, retail store, or business, the only time we think about wayfinding is when it’s confusing or nonexistent. Effective wayfinding is a well-researched, well-engineered plan that anticipates directional needs, guides visitors, aligns with your building’s pathways, and strengthens your brand.

Product Launches

A jolt. That’s what you want from your product launch. An impact that will ripple through your customer base, resound with your prospects, and shake up your competitors. Smart, strategic launches always create a jolt. It’s the way to jumpstart a product, gain market share, enhance a brand. But how do you create that jolt? Whether your launch is for an entirely new product or a line extension, these six marketing “musts” will put you on the path to success.

Your Trade Show Booth

Trade shows remain a great investment — whether you’re a product or service-oriented organization. An effective trade show booth or a larger trade show exhibit can help you draw people in and give them a greater understanding of your product or service. A trade show is a bit like a parade, only the “floats” are stationary and the crowd moves. Don’t let the parade pass you by.

Presentations

Planning a presentation? You should know that public speaking is only partially about speaking. “War and Peace” is a brilliant novel, but if you stood at a podium and read it word for word to an audience, no matter how well you read aloud, you’d soon be reading to yourself. Your content and what you say are certainly important, but how you say it and how you present it demand equal attention. Whether you’re using PowerPoint or Keynote, speaking in a large auditorium or a small conference room, you can give an effective presentation by avoiding these common mistakes.

Personas

Your communications must speak to audiences in terms as familiar as an instant message, addressing their unique priorities and needs. Otherwise, you’ll never motivate your desired response. Don’t know your audiences that well? That’s where personas come in. Personas can help you discover what will enthuse target audiences and inspire them to act.

Email Marketing

Attention e-marketers: Ignore the small things at your peril. It’s the eve of your latest email campaign. You’ve been preparing for weeks. You feel good about your prospects as you draw closer to hitting the send button and letting the world know who you are and what you have to offer. Then someone asks what the subject line should say. Believe it or not, your response to this question is the pivotal moment in your campaign.

Print Promotions with Pizazz

Who says every print promotion has to be 8 1/2 x 11? (Yawn.) Who says it has to be paper? Who says it even has to look like a promotion? If you’re trying to capture the attention of customers and prospects, you need to create some hubbub.
