Guthrie
"Get me to the show on time"
In the summer of 2006, the Guthrie opened its new theater center on the banks of the Mississippi River. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, this world-class facility includes three theaters, offices, production and rehearsal spaces, classrooms, and two restaurants. Larsen developed a master wayfinding plan and designed signage to complement the new building's dramatic, contemporary architecture. The plan was carefully crafted to accommodate the rush of people maneuvering through complicated pathways to reach their seats prior to curtain rise. Eleven hundred signs were created to help move patrons quickly and efficiently through the building.
