Making a splash at a grand opening

The University of Minnesota Special Collections and Archives Group had a new, prominent location. They asked Larsen to help them take advantage of the press attention their new building would receive to highlight their work and unique collections. Larsen chose the theme Time and Again and designed banners and a timeline on a display wall to visually highlight each special collection in a colorful block grid pattern. A backlit contemporary kiosk in the lobby commemorates former Governor and University of Minnesota Regent, Elmer L. Andersen, and describes the building's underground storage capacity for priceless archives and artifacts.
