Digital "Go to Extremes"

Taking a trade show exhibit to new extremes

Digital Equipment Corporation was looking for a different way to display their OEM storage products at the Comdex trade show. Larsen developed a humorous theme using space, storage, capacity, and the idea of going to extremes to showcase their products. A refrigerator, a toolbox, and other props decorated the space, with signage describing the comparable capabilities of Digital OEM Storage products. Colors and graphics were coordinated with product literature. Amusing illustrations and copy highlighting product specifications set apart an invitation to a party at Liberace's mansion. Event giveaways featured the company logo and comical storage-related taglines. The large globe umbrella hanging over the exhibit communicated the company's worldwide reach.
