With a great name already in place, the Red Lotus restaurant in California hired Larsen to create a memorable brand identity. After brainstorming several iterations of the mark, Larsen designers came up the idea of using a section of the lotus root as a stamp. The lettering in the Red Lotus wordmark is designed to reflect the ovoid shapes in the lotus root and give this identity an intriguing, authentic presence. In addition to the identity, Larsen produced a wide variety of promotional materials for the restaurant, including gift cards, presentation envelopes, and a menu format.
