Larsen Design + Interactive Announces Growth of San Jose Office

Minneapolis | May 29, 2001

Larsen Design + Interactive today announced promotions and additions to its staff in San Jose, Calif. The firm promoted David Shultz to vice president-creative and Amy Joslin to marketing/account director. Mark Saunders was promoted to design director and relocated from the firm's Minneapolis office. Stacie Saunders was hired as an account executive focusing on interactive media. The additional staff provides expanded resources and expertise for Larsen's West Coast clients. The firm now employs 10 people at this location.

"We bring great branding and design experience to the Silicon Valley," says Tim Larsen, the firm's president. "The growth of our San Jose office provides our clients in other parts of the country access to trends emerging from that area. Despite the recent downturn, we see tremendous opportunity in the Valley over the long term."

David Shultz joined Larsen in 1995. He has over 10 years experience developing award-winning design for retail packaging, trade show exhibits, corporate identities and marketing communications for clients such as Novellus Systems, Applied Materials, Netscape, Hewlett-Packard, Charles Schwab and ConAgra. His work has been featured in various design publications and competitions nationwide. Shultz earned a B.F.A. from the University of Kansas. As a Larsen vice president, Shultz will manage the San Jose office's overall creative development.

Amy Joslin joined Larsen in 1997. She has over six years of experience in account management and has worked on print and interactive projects with clients including Kodak, Novellus Systems, Asyst, Remedy Corporation and Contempo Design. She is an active member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and the Western Art Directors Club (WADC). Joslin earned a B.A. from the University of St. Thomas. As the marketing/account director for Larsen's San Jose office, Joslin will focus on new business development.

Mark Saunders joined Larsen in 1998. He has over seven years of professional design experience and has worked with clients such as Multi-Tech Systems and Wausau Papers in business-to-business, consumer, retail and technology markets. His work has won AIGA's Green Leaf Award for environmental responsibility and continues to win recognition from design competitions nationwide. Saunders earned a Bachelor of Journalism and a B.F.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. As a design director, Saunders will manage the creative direction for specific accounts including Asyst Technologies and the Remedy Corporation.

Stacie Saunders has over five years experience in account management. She joins Larsen's San Jose account services team from iPares, Ltd where she was the director of technical project management. She has worked with a breadth of clients including Motorola, MasterFoodServices (Uncle Ben's), Miracle-Ear and Pro Staff. Saunders earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is an active member of AIGA and WADC. Saunders will concentrate on account services for interactive media projects.
